Women in French is a scholarly association whose goal is the promotion of the study of French and Francophone women authors, the study of women’s place in French and Francophone cultures and literature, and feminist literary criticism.
Our goal is also to share information and to debate the position of women in higher education in the United States and Canada.
Who are the members of Women in French?
Women in French is a resource for French language teachers, teachers of French and Francophone cultures and literatures, researchers with a university degree (M.A., Ph.D.) or equivalent educational experience, and students at the university level.
Our 2019 Graduate Essay Award Winner is Mélanie Maillot, a PhD candidate and French tutor at the University of Adelaide. The name of her Essay is "Réflexion métaphysique en lien aux représentations non-normatives du corps dans les poèmes d’Andrée Chedid et de Jeanne Benguigui."
